HE WHO COMFORT

2 Corinthians 1:2-4

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Comfort in Suffering “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, “who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God”.

He comforts me, it is God who comfort me. Early in the morning when I awake and breath in the first nostril of air, see the sun busting through the windows, see the blue sky setting so firmly in its place and on some occasions splattered with white fluffy clouds, and I stand starring up into the heavens at that moment I am comforted in my morning, my day is just starting, and I am comforted knowing that “Jesus is Here”. God is with me, starting my day, going before me, and as I submit the day to Him, I am free because God will be my comfort in my day’s journey. “Jesus is Here”.

No matter what my day may bring, good or bad God will be my comforter. I can be at peace “Jesus is Here”. I am thankful for peace. God sent the Holy Spirit to comfort, teach, and guide into all truths. And the Holy Spirit is our comforter. Jesus says of His Father “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (John 14:26 ESV)

Holy Spirit (Paraclete) a Greek word, like many Greek words is hard to translate into English because there is no perfect English equivalent. The word Paraclete is “one who is called alongside”. No matter where the day may carry us, Holy Spirit will be there going along beside us. In the valley He is there. Just around the corner He is there. On a lonely road or big freeway, He is there. In your home daily care of family, no matter the chores or problems that may present itself Holy Spirit will be there, going along beside you. So, talk to the Father as you go through your day, I DO and I am comforted in my day, and I give thanks to Holy Spirit each time that I am urged to pray. It is the Holy Spirit who leads me into the righteousness of God. A child of God never has to worry, fear or doubt because God’s grace and mercy is covering us all. “Thank you, Lord,”. YHWH IS ALWAYS WITH US. On the mountain top He is there. In the wilderness He is there. The Holy Spirit goes along beside us, He support God’s kingdom work, and it is Holy Spirit who help us bring good fruits of God’s kingdom work. “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever. (John 14:16)

GOD OUR COMFORTER

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, everyone to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

The Bible is the Word of God written to His people and, it contains everything we need to be “Complete”. (2 Timothy 3:15-17). The Bible has a lot to say about comfort and there are many scriptures that are comforting for us in life’s tough times. The most important part of God’s word is His promises that God makes to those of us who can believe and trust Him, and it is these promises that will bring comfort to us, they feed of the weakest spark of saving Faith to provide reward of comfort, peace, and joy in the of need. The promises of God cannot be appropriated in the same way by the unbelieving, to trust in God you must believe that He exist. Faith and obedience go hand in hand in God’s promises, if we have faith in God and obey His word, then we can expect His promises to be fulfilled. We are rewarded with joy, peace, and comforts. Isaiah 26:3. So embrace it in faith, asking for the Lord’s help, and there will be no disappointment.
