EXODUS 6:1-8
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land”.

THE PREDICTED TRIAL WAS SOON TO COME. PROVOKED THROUGH THE DARING OF MAN, who would measure his strength against that of the living God. It was to establish two facts for all ages and to all mankind.
- In sight of Egypt – Exodus 7:5 “And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them. (kjv)
- And of Israel – Exodus10:2 “And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD. (kjv)
Jehovah God is our Lord, He is the one who loved us, He wants to see the world saved from sin. He gave His only Son Jesus Christ as savior of the world; Jesus the Messiah came down from the Father to earth to save the soul of mankind from sin. “For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Jehovah God will deliver His children from Satan, from evil, from sin and wickedness in their lives just as He delivered Israel from their bondage in Egypt, and with a Strong Hand, He will deliver you and me. In (Daniel 3:17), Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego had so much faith in God being able to deliver them, Daniel said to the King, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O King. Daniel was saying to the King we know our God, we know who he is and what he can do O King, we know our God will deliver us.
It was to evidence that God was Jehovah, the only true and the living God, far above all powers of men and of gods. Exodus 9:14 “For I will at this time send all of my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thy mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth”.(kjv) This was one aspect of the judgements which was to burst upon Egypt Roman 9:17 “For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.”(kjv) The other was, that He was the faithful Covenant-God, who remembered His promises, and would bring out His people “with a stretched-out arm and with great judgements”, to take to Himself for a people, and to be to them a God (Exodus 6:1-8).kjv
God used Pharaoh evil harden heart toward Israel for His own purpose to deliver them out of Egypt from bondage. God had heard their cries, and he remembered His covenant. Jehovah God is sovereign, He sometime uses unrighteous people to complete His purpose, and sometime that purpose is His will for His people lives. God also work sovereignly in the earth so that His power, His name and who He is would be declared and known throughout the world. “For the scripture says to the Pharoah for this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that my name may be declared in all the earth”. Today we still declare the power and message of God’s deliverance of the children of Israel for the bondage of their slave master Pharaoh. “With a Mighty Strong Hand” God delivered them.
- 2.”And God spoke unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:”
- 3.”And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”
- 4.”And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers”.
- 5.”And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant”.
- 6.”Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgements:”
- 7.”And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.”
- 8.”And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.“
These are the eternal truths which underlie the history of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt. How Israel had understood and taught them to their children, appears from many passages of scripture, you can read it in Psalm 78 and 105. Also, the application is suited to our wants. exhibits alike the Law and the Gospel, showing the severity and the goodness of God. This can be summed up in that grand proclamation unto all the world: “Jehovah reigned” (Psalm 99:1)
YES, JEHOVAH REIGNED!!! PEOPLE OF GOD, HE REIGNED.

In Genesis 12:7, God promised Abram, who had just arrived in Canaan, “To your offspring I will give this land.” Then, in Genesis 17:8, God reiterates the promise to Abraham, adding that the land gift is irrevocable. God is saying the whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you.” God later repeats the promise to Abraham’s son Isaac (Genesis 26:3-4) and Isaac’s son Jacob (Genesis 28:13), whose name God later changed to Israel.
GOD IS A GIFT GIVER; HE GAVE JESUS CHRIST TO THE WORLD AS IT SAVIOR. ALL PEOPLE WHO WILL ACCEPT HIM BY FAITH IN THEIR HEART WiII BE SAVED AND BECOMES THE CHILDREN OF GOD. WITHOUT JESUS WE ARE FOREIGNER IN A LAND WHERE THERE IS NO HOPE. JEHOVAH GOD PROMISED TO SEND JESUS CHRIST TO THE WORD AND HE FULFILLED HIS PROMISE.
- But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, (Galatians 4:4)
- In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. (1 John 4:9)
- In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1John 4:10)
In the Abrahamic Covenant, then, God laid out the extent of the land that would belong to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – The promise of the land belonging to the children of Israel is permanent. Even when Israel was expelled from their land, which has happened twice in history, God promised they would return: “Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the LORD your God will gather you and bring you back. He will bring you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will take possession of it’ (Deuteronomy 30:4-5).
The Nation of Israel was God’s chosen people. The covenant was made with Abraham. – And Joseph died, all his brothers, and all that generation.
-But the children of Israel were fruitful and increase abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them. -Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. -And he said to his people, look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we; -come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply, and it happen, in the event of war, that they also join our enemies and fight against us, and so go up out of the land. -Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses. -But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the children of Israel. -So the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor. (Exodus 1:6-13)
But Jehovah God see our pain and struggles, He hear us praying and crying out to Him for help, for our deliverance from bondage Thanks be unto God He does. Exodus 3:7 And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows”.
God do not want us to be slaves of Darkness, living by the wickedness and evil of this world. We are His people also, for we are the seed of Abraham, by Faith we are God’s people. Jehovah God want us to be free in Jesus Christ, walking in the Light. “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4). Jesus is the Light of the World; the Bible is our map to walk in the light. (And the word became flesh and dwelt among us). “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John1:14). Will you let your light shine for the Lord, for by grace God has saved you. God has delivered us from the darkness of sin and evil into the marvelous light of Jesus, we are now made the righteousness of God. Jehovah God has delivered us with His strong hand of grace, just like He delivered Israel, His people from the darkness of their bondage.
Have faith in Jehovah God. Trust Jehovah God, the maker of your soul. Our creator is the Great Almighty God. We believe He is who the Bible say that He is, He is the everlasting Father, eternal, the beginning and end, and there is no beginning to Him and no ending to Him. He is our deliverer. He can and is able to deliver His people. There is nothing too big for our God to solve, He can make a way, He can deliver. God’s people have sufficiency through Christ, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus”(Philippians 4:19).
