God is sovereign, and He has choose the one’s who will love and obey Him, to call them His little children. When we worship him, and praise him, we are showing Him we love and honor Him. We show love to God when we talk to Him by prayer. God is Sovereign, and He gave mankind free will to choose. God’s sovereignty is one of the most important principles in Christian theology, The sovereignty of God is not debatable. “God have supreme power and authority” over all things. We who are Christians agree that God is preeminent in power and authority. God’s sovereignty is a natural consequence of His omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. “Jesus said to His disciples – If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7). You have free will, so Jesus say’s “IF” you stay with Me, trust in Me, hope in Me, then you may ask anything of Me and it shall be given to you (keep in mind when we ask God anything you must ask according to His will and in faith. The apostle Paul were saying to the church, “IF” you holdfast by which you are also saved, (by the Word of God), “IF” you holdfast that Word which I preached to you-unless you believe in vain. You need to abide and hold the Words of God in your heart. To what extent do God apply His Sovereignty? Specifically, how much control He exerts over the wills of men? When we speak of the sovereignty of God, we means He rules the universe, but the debate begins, over when and where His control is direct and when it is indirect. God is described in the Bible as all-powerful and all-knowing (Psalm 147:5), outside of time (Exodus 3:14; Psalm 90:2), and responsible for the creation of everything (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1). These two divine scriptures traits of God, set the boundary for God’s sovereign control in the universe, which is to say nothing in the universe occurs without God’s permission. God has the power and knowledge to prevent, anything He chooses to prevent, so anything that does happen must, at the very least, be allowed by God. God does not cause things to happen, He is Holy and there is no darkness in Him–From the Epistle of 1John 1:5, the apostle writes “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all”. God has a permissive Will for the universe and mankind, so whatever we are burden with, whatever trials and tribulations life may bring upon us in this world, we must remember that God is light, but sin and disobedient He turn away from, and does not bless or reward the person or nation who commit such acts. Mankind have free Will, and God gave man dominium over the earth, man is in charge of God’s creation, and man decisions affects every person on the earth, the world depends on mankind decisions. Because of sin, man is not capable of choosing what is best for humanity without God’s help, therefore, God uses His sovereignty Will over the will of man in the universe at all times. It may be direct or indirect. The Bible describes God as offering humanity choices (Deuteronomy 30:15-19), holding them personally responsible for their sins (Exodus 20:5), and bringing punishment for their sins. As stated before, the sovereignty of God refers to the fact that God is in complete control of the universe. It is better to believe in God who is sovereignty, than a system of fatalism. Humans are able to make genuine choices that have real consequences. God does not directly cause everything to happen, yet He does allow all that happen to happen. And ultimately God’s will is going to be accomplished. You might not think of God as the supreme and in control of every thing in your day, but God is, and we should recognize God who is sovereignty moving in our lives everyday. Because the sovereignty of God is quite practical and has a significant impact on our daily lives. The sovereignty of God impacts on our everyday life is it removes all cause for worry. We can trust that what the Bible says about God’s character is backed up by His ability of proven miracles’. Not only does God love us, but He has the ability to care for those who are part of the family of God, and all believer can claim (Romans 8:28) “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose”. So we can rest assuredly that our Sovereignty God is able to work all things for good, even when we do not know how thing will turn out when we are in trials and tribulations.
The Sovereignty of God impacts our everyday lives because we can trust God’s sanctifying work in the life of believers. Many times Christians get so full of pride and think their maturing in faith is completely all because them. God does not save us and then leave all the growing and maturing in faith up to us. We play a part in our maturity, for we are called to obedience. when we obey God, growth and maturity takes place. Christians must recognize the sovereignty of God and trust Him to bring them to maturity (Galatians 3:3), (Philippians 1:6). Looking to Romans 8, the Apostle Paul, writes “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called, those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave Him up for us all-how will he not also, alone with Him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Romans 8:29-34). Jehovah God was and has always been, He is eternal, and in eternity we were with Him, and God sovereign plan for our salvation was with Him. Christians do not need to rely on their own works and performance in the church, but we can rest in the character of God and focus on actually really getting to know Him, as He is in the “Word”.
As Christians the sovereignty of God also affects how we make decisions. We recognize that God is in control, so we pray, trust, seek, and with faith you make your decision knowing that God is in control, and we can trust in God’s faithfulness and His ability to answer prayer and lead you the right way. If we fall in the wrong direction, we know to trust God to set us back on the right course. God’s sovereignty control does not mean we sit idly by and just allow life to happen. No we are to participate in life and go bravely into life, trusting that our loving Father sees the larger picture and is faithfully working everything for His glory. (“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”. Hebrews 3:16)
As a Christian the sovereign of God impacts our sense of identity. As a Christian our identity is in Jesus Christ, when we understand how powerful God is and how much He loves us, we will know we are secure in Him. We are the objects of God’s sovereign love, we allow God to define us, and our worth is found in Him. We do not look to the changing ideals of the world to identify ourselves. When we understand that God is in complete control, we can live our life freely. There is no need to fear ultimate failure or final destruction (Romans 8:1). There is no need to fear worthlessness. We can be confident that God will have His way and that it will be good. We can trust the one who says He loves us and is able to act on that love in all ways, Just as He did in time past when He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, for the sins of the world. We can trust even when the world seems completely out of control, God is in control. We know He has the big picture covered, so we can trust Him with our problems, our daily struggles, our disappointments, our pain, sickness, our loneliness, or any unfavorable situation in our lives, our sovereignty God has it under control.
