GENESIS CHAPTERS: 1, 2 and 3
The creation:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, and it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creatures that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that move, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. And God said, see, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seeds; to you it shall be for food. “Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Genesis, chapter 1)
- Genesis, chapters 2 and 3
“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. v2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. v3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” The World we see and enjoy every day of our life was created in seven days. Jehovah God finished His work on the sixth day and on the seventh day He rested. Therefore we have a day of rest, not only that, Jehovah God sanctified it and Blessed the seventh day, and so should we. We should relax from our work, cares and worries and realize that God gave us this day of rest, to focus on His goodness, mercy and grace, and to worship Him and the glory there off. I meditate sometime on the magnificent way Jehovah God created the World, and then I imagined our mighty God who has always existed, Father, Son, Holy Spirit wanting someone to love, wanting someone to fellowship with, to commune spiritually with the spirit whom He is within His holiness, in His creative place for worship, to give glory to His name Jehovah God goes to work creating and creating until in the end He had changed a world of Chaos into a world of beauty by speaking it into existence by a word. I love the creative awesomeness of God. The Bible shows us that the glory of God is the reason why God created everything, the earth and the whole wide world. It seems reasonable to assume that God who is abundantly full of grace and love, would desire a recipients to lavish His provisions of love upon. Because God exist all by Himself, and in His infinite fullness of abundant glory and power, and with His “Will” to communicate to someone who He is, Jehovah God, was moved to create the World. The Bible emphasizes the excessive love, blessing, and power that God desires to pour out on those who love Him. “Let’s put it this way “My cup overflows” from the blessing of God. There is no one like Him, He is the “True and Living Spirit of the World”. In scripture God says: “I am the first and I am the last; and beside me there is no other God.(Isaiah 44:6),(Isaiah 41:4),(Isaiah 48:12). “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the LORD, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty”. (Revelation 1:8) (Proverbs 16:4) “The LORD has made all for Himself” So we can see Jehovah God created the World for His glory, also He is the only “True and Living God” “For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people”. (1 Samuel 12:22). The LORD called the Israelites His people all throughout the Bible. But He has made all nations of people His people, Jews and Gentiles alike. We know this because it is in His Holy Word, the Bible, we also know we are all His people, because the Word of God never change, it is the same today as it was yesterday 42 generations ago. Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, hung upon the cross for All people, He came to save All, (even if we are the engrafted one’s) God loves us “All” and wishes no one to be lost. He is the Messiah for All nations. The creation was like this: v4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD GOD made the earth and the heavens, v5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD GOD had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. v6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creep upon the earth”. v7 And the LORD GOD formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. v8 And the LORD GOD planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. v9 And out of the ground made the LORD GOD to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. v16 And the LORD GOD commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: v17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eat thereof thou shalt surely die. v18 And the LORD GOD said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him. v19 And out of the ground the LORD GOD formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. v20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him. v21 And the LORD GOD caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; v22 And the rib, which the LORD GOD had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. v23 And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man. v24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. The earth was without sin after creation, for God had created a pure and clean sinless world and placed the man and woman in a garden of paradise. Everything that Adam and Eve needed to live a blessed and fruitful life, God had placed it before them. Out of the ground He grew every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. God had placed a river that flowed out of Eden to water the garden, after it watered the garden of Eden, the river parted into four heads, Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel, and the fourth river is Euphrates. God made the garden beautiful for Adam and Eve. God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that move upon the earth. God created the world for His glory. He created man to commune with Him in a glorious spiritually way, He would walk in the garden and talk with Adam in the cool of the day, God and Adam, I see with a spiritual eye, God walking in the earth with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day as they fellowship together. But they lost that privilege to be close to God and commune with Him on a daily basis. They disobeyed God, by listening to the serpent(the devil),they sinned, they became doubtful of what God had told them, and they let the devil deceive them. How could they question what God had told them “Not To Do” and be tempted by the devil. God gave them everything they needed, but they traded what was good and true for that which was bad and evil. The LORD GOD created the world, and it was “All Good”. Of all the trees God made to grow with every kind of seed within its own tree, God put it in the garden for Adam and Eve to eat off. God said, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eat thereof thou shalt surely die”. They traded Life for Death. Now every man must choose Life or Death, I choose life in Jesus Christ, my Lord, my Savior, the Messiah, the Son of Jehovah God, the almighty God, the everlasting King of the World to come. I hope many more will choose Life over Death. Sin had entered into their heart; “And they heard the voice of the LORD GOD walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of LORD GOD among the trees of the garden. “And the LORD GOD called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou? “And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself”. And he said, who told thee that thou was naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, the woman whom thou gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD GOD said unto the woman, what is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD GOD said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: In the Garden of Eden the Judgment of Mankind was implemented, the war between Good and Evil. The war between God and Satan.(Genesis 3:8-24) The Adamic Covenant conditions the life of fallen man – conditions which must remain until the kingdom age, “the creation also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God”(Roman 8:21). And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel – thou shalt bruise his heel. “The chain of references referred to here includes the promises and prophecies concerning Christ which were fulfilled in His birth and works at His first advent”(Acts 1:11) Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorry thy shall bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and has eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it was thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. – return – death(physical)(Hebrew 9:27). And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Eve – That is, living or life-giver. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD GOD make coats of skins, and clothed them – coats of skins: “Type of Christ, made unto us righteousness – a divinely provided garment that the first sinners might be made fit for God’s presence(Isaiah 64:6).
In His great mercy, God also covered Adam and Eve’s shame (Genesis 3:21) and gave them a message of hope in the promise of a Redeemer. The Bible’s first mention of the coming Messiah is found in (Genesis 3:15), often called the protoevangelium. The seed of the women would come to crush the head of the serpent, at the cost of being bruised Himself. So, an integral part of the creation story is a prediction of Jesus’ death on the cross and His triumph over Satan and the curse.
