JEWELS FOR THE SOUL

The scriptures are taken from King James Version of the Bible:

The Words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.   (Ecclesiastes 3:1-22)

“Jewels For The Soul Says:” This is the time to Stand. This is the time to weep. This is the time to look-up. This is the time to pray. This the time to recognize. This is the time for change within. This is the time for a new heart. This is the time for joy.  This is the time to love. This is the time to forgive. This is the time to turn from evil. This is the time to do good. This is the time to love God. This is the time to worship. This is the time to praise. This is the time to show up-lifted hands. This is the time to change. This is the time to help. This is the time to stop being a victim. This is the time to smile. This is the time to live with purpose.

This is the time to love the creator, but not love the creature more than you love the creator. This is the time to give God, all worship, honor, and praise, and to love others as you love yourself.  “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all of your soul, with all of your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: “you shall love your neighbor as yourself”. On these two commandments hang all the law and prophets”

Jewels of Nuggets: Do you love the creature more? Do you love your big house, your big car, your big bank account, your big closet of clothes, all of the material blessing that comes to you, do you worship them more? This is the time to worship the True and Living God, Jehovah God. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, He is the Son of man.   “Amen“

God will never change, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. “I the LORD do not change”.  Malachi 3:6

God tells us of the cautionary nature of his declarations and the fact that He will act in accordance with our choices. If He announces at any time a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation that I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. And at another time He announces that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, and it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it. “This is what the Lord says: Look! I am preparing a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. So turn from your evil ways, each one of you, and reform your ways and actions”  (Jeremiah 18-7-11).  “If a nation I warned repents [like Assyria in Jonah 3]. . . then I will relent.” Conversely, God may tell a nation they will be blessed, but “if it does evil in my sight [like Israel in Micah 1] . . . then I will reconsider the good I had intended.”

This is The Time for Change:

• To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
•  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
•  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
•  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
•  A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
•  A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to cast away;
•  A time to rend, and a time to sew, a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
•  A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

There is a great deal of toil and trouble to be seen among the children of men. Labour and sorrow fill the world. This toil and this trouble are what God has allotted us. He never intended this world for our rest, and therefore never appointed us to take our ease in it. To many, it proves a gift. God gives it to men, as the physician gives medicine to his patient, to do him good and make him feel better. This travail of a world is given to us to make us weary of the world and desirous of the remaining rest. [when we shall see God] It is given to us that we may be kept in action, and may always have something to do, for none of us were sent into the world to be idle, and for sure not to stay. Every change cuts us out some new work, which we should be more anxious and concerned about, than about the event.

• What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
•  I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
•  He has made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. [“Jewels of Nuggets” God is the maker of this temple, and He made it beautiful and He is continually working on it, he is not through with me yet, so don’t judge.]
• I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. [“Jewels of Nuggets” We must be pleased with our fate in this world, and cheerfully submit in the will of God concerning us, and accommodate ourselves to it. There is no good in things, except to do good with them, to our families, to our neighbors, to the poor, to the public, to civil and religious interests. It is to do good in this life, which is short and uncertain we have but a little time to be doing good, and therefore you need to redeem the time”.]
• And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor it is the gift of God. [“Jewels of Nuggets” God gives blessing let us thank Him for all that is given to us to enjoy. Don’t be greedy, also be ready to bless others”.]
•  I know that whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever; nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
•  That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.   [“Jewels of Nuggets” Whatever changes we see or feel in this world, we must acknowledge the inviolable steadiness of God’s government. The sun rises and sets, the moon increases and decreases, and yet both are where they were, and their revolutions are in the same method from the beginning according to the ordinances of heaven so it is with the events of providence”.]

This is The Time for Change.  Every man needs to see a change in his Mind, Spirit, Soul, and let the change cause his body to act in obedience to God’s ordinances that are set forth in the world. The world, as it has been, is and will be constant in inconstancy for God requires that which is past, that is, repeats what he has formerly done and deals with us no otherwise than as he has used to deal with good men and shall the earth be forsaken for us, or the rock removed out of its place? There has no change befallen us, nor any temptation by it overtaken us, but such as is common to men.

•  And moreover, I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place righteousness, that iniquity was there.   [“Jewels of Nuggets” Solomon is showing that everything in this world, without piety and the fear of God, is vanity. Take away religion and there will be nothing valuable among men, nothing for the sake of which a wise man would think it worthwhile to live in this world.”]
• I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.   [“Jewels of Nuggets” One day the judge himself will be judged for not judging all right. Judgment in the world today is perverted. God shall judge between the righteous and the wicked, he shall judge for the righteous and plead the cause of the oppressed, but the wicked He will not hear. “The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming”.]
• I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.   [“jewels of Nuggets” Man will be in a bad state without God. Here Solomon hope is that that God would visit man and show him he is nothing without his God. For without God men are compared to beasts”]
•  For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other, yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.   [Jewels of Nuggets” Here again Solomon is comparing man to beast if a man does not have a new soul in the Divine Christ he is lost after the breath of life goes out of him, for the beast breath air also and when the breath of life leaves him, he goes down to the below”.]
• All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.   [“Jewels of Nuggets” Man and beast bodies go to the same place when it dies, it is returned back to dirt from where it came. But there is a difference to what happens to man and beast when they die. It is for certain the spirit of the beast goes downwards to the earth it dies with the body, it perishes and is gone at death. The soul of a beast is, at death, like a candle blown out-there is an end of it and it dies forever, but whereas the soul of a man is then like a candle taken out of a dark lantern, which leaves the lantern useless indeed, but does continue itself to shine brighter, because the soul of man continue to live, it will never die because “The Breath Of God” was breathed into the nostrils of man. This great difference between the spirits of men and beasts is the reason why man should worship his God and set his affections on things above, and lift up their souls to those things on high”.]
•  Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?   [[“Jewels of Nuggets” God knows. He created them as such. Man spirit was put in him to bring glory to Jehovah God in the heavens. A man was made to worship God. God has reserved His place in the heart of man. Beasts have no part in the kingdom worship of God, for beasts have no life in his spirit and after death, the spirit of a beast goes to below”.]
• wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?   [“Jewels of Nuggets” There is nothing better, as to this world, nothing better to be had out of our wealth and honor, than that a man should happy in his own works, that is: Keep a clear conscience, and never admit iniquity unto the place of righteousness. Let every man examine his own work, and approve himself alone, and not in another. (Galatians 6:4). Let him not get nor keep anything but what he can rejoice in. “For the boasting is this. the testimony of our conscience that we conduct ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you”. 2 Corinthians 1:12. Live a cheerful life. If God has prospered the work of our hands unto us, let us give thanks unto God and rejoice in it, and take the comfort of it”.]

Purpose of Writing: Ecclesiastes is a book of perspective. The narrative “of the Preacher” reveals the depression that inevitably results from seeking happiness in worldly things. The book gives Christians a chance to see the world through the eyes of a person who, though it was very wise trying to find meaning in temporary  human things. Most every form of worldly pleasure is explored by the preacher, and none of it gives him a sense of meaning. The Preacher finally realized that this world away from God has nothing to offer, it shall all pass away, and will destroy man as he searches for it, SO,  Vanity of vanity, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
