Many of you have heard the saying a soldier of the cross. When I was a child we would often sing a song called “I am A Soldier Of The Cross”. I always like to sing this song because I would always see myself as a soldier Working, Marching, Doing and Traveling on down the road for God, using all the gifts that are giving to me by God for His Kingdom Work. When I was a child, and we sang the song, I would always excitedly see myself as a soldier of God’s army marching with the church for God, climbing higher and higher to heaven to meet God. But when I got more Bible knowledge, I learned that Working for God is spreading the gospel truth of the Bible to all nations and people who need to have an experience of Jesus at the Cross, Marching for God is studying the scriptures, Doing for God is abiding in the scriptures, and Traveling for God is walking according to the scriptures daily. So as I have grown in the Faith, the song “I Am A Soldier Of The Cross” leads me to the gospel of the cross of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 6:11“Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”. 6:12″For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. 6:13“Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”. 6:14“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness”; 6:15″And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace”; 6:16“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked”. 6:17“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God”: 6:18“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”;. Jewels of Nuggets “Jesus Christ endured the crucifixion upon the cross. He was the good “Solider of the Cross” and they said, if thou be the King of the Jews, save thyself. For the Jews prosecuted under the notion that he pretended to be the Messiah, and also the Romans prosecuted under the notion of pretending to be King. So, therefore, the superscription they nailed over His head read; “This is the King of the Jews”. Luke 23:38. They did it because they were unlearned, they did not know who Jesus was, they did not know they need him and they will never get through their life without Him, or leave this world in peace without accepting Him as Lord over their life, or face eternal damnation. They also wanted to disgrace him beyond what anyone could imagine. God had a plan for Jesus, He had already declared Jesus the King of the church, but notwithstanding his present disgrace: he is the King of the Jews, the King of the church and his cross is the way to his crown. The world cannot take anything from you that God has already ordained and declared for you. So take up your cross and follow Jesus.
